I am supposed to post a funny picture of myself.

So I figured I'd take advantage of this opportunity

1. If you could only eat savory or sweet things for the rest of your life, which would you choose- and why?
SWEETS! No doubt about it. I am addicted to sugar & have been ever since I can remember.

I crave it 24/7, even if I have just eaten 4 bowls of ice cream.

It's a problem.

2. Would you rather live in the ocean (underwater), in the sky (on a cloud), or in space?

Ummmm In the sky! I'm kind of scared of the water,

dont get me wrong I LOVE being in a pool or on a beach!

but I'm sort of an awful swimmer, & I am deathly afraid of sharks & weird sea creatures.

I could stare at the sky all day, It's absolutely beautiful!

So I pick on a cloud! :]

3. Desert, Mountains, Plains, or Tropics?
Tropics! 100%

Warm weather & I are kind of BFFs

4. Would you rather live with chronic pain or the worst pain you can imagine for 24 hours?
worst pain I can imagine for 24 hours.

At least the pain would end you know?

5. If you had to repeat one of these again, which would it be? Preschool, Elementary, Jr High/ Middle School, High School, College.
Jr High! 8th grade was my absolute favorite year ever!

I had 46 boyfriends, no REAL drama, no stress, awesome friends, & a whole lot of laughter.

6. Tribal, Floral, Stripes, or Polka Dots?
I love them all?

tribal skirts are super cute.

Just bought floral shorts and a silk floral shirt.

Stripes are always fun.

Also just bought myself a silk polka dot top!

Having a unibrow is literally one of the most repulsive things ever. Butttt I also couldnt go the rest of my life with hairy legs. Therefore....I pick hygiene. haha

Okay,

I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for quite a while now.

But I could never settle on what exactly to get.

Especially because I wanted to get something that really meant something to me.

To make a long, complicated, and overwhelmingly sad story short,

I lost a family member that I loved so incredibly much a little over a year ago.

My uncle was one of the strongest, smartest, and funniest men I ever knew.

Losing him was devastating for my family.

My uncle would always write "peace" before signing his name, or saying goodnight.

I searched long & hard for the perfect quote, scripture, or song lyric.

And I finally came across something that was perfect.

"There is peace in the shelter of His arms"

I know my uncle is in a better place, and he is so much happier now.
It brings joy to my heart to know that he is truly living in peace now.

Those words are actually song lyrics, I forgot who sings the song,

or what the song is called.

All I could think about when I saw it was how perfect it was.

Originally I wanted to get it on my shoulder where it curved with my back.
kinda like this....

But then I really thought about it,
and although I absolutely LOVE the placement
& the way it looks, there are going to be situations
where I want to wear something that shows my shoulders
& I'm not going to want a tattoo visible.
My wedding day for example.

So I finally found a placement that I really like.

So picture that saying,
"There is peace in the shelter of His arms"
I dont think I want it as big though.

& I might have his initials in there somewhere.

Lately I like to listen to "Young, Wild, & Free" by Wiz Khalifa,

& sing really loud & pretend that my life isnt identical to that

of a 96 year old.

This past Sunday was so perfect.

I went to the pool for the first time, in what seems like 7 years.

I watched Kyle & his guy friends play sand volleyball

while I laid out & talked on the phone with my girl Jennifer.

Which unfortunately resulted in a painfully awkward sunburn.

But I'm not complaining.

I laid in the sun, & listened to country music, & had girl talk,

& watched my man show off his volleyball skills.

This all made me so much more excited about spring break.

I'm just praying that the weather will cooperate.

I also CANT wait to go home & see my family & my friends from back home.

I am in major need of a hair cut & dye.

I also want to get myself some new glasses,

I'm not really feelin' the pair I have now.

Oh golly, spring break is just going to be full of great things!

(did I really just say golly?)

Kyle's birthday is on Sunday!!

I think I get more excited about his birthday than he does.

I'm gonna spoil the crap out of him.

Girls, I'm a fan of short shorts,

This actually made me cringe because she looks somewhat proud. ew.

Life Happens.

Okay I'm really going to do it this time, I promise!

Last night didnt start out too great.

Kyle & I got in a fight.

I yelled at him real loud over the phone & then hung up on him.

I might have been over reacting, but I'm a girl so that's my job.

I turned on Pandora at the loudest it would go, & then started cleaning like a mad woman.

I was in my room doing laundry when I heard my door open.

I could just feel him staring at the back of my head.

I didnt turn around.

He knew that I knew he was there & he just came up and kissed the back of my head.

He watched me fold laundry for a little while, neither of us said a word.

Then he started cleaning with me.

He fixed my wobbly dresser, & made the kitchen pretty.

Everything was finally spotless & I knew I couldnt avoid him anymore.

Before I could even think he picked me up and held me like a baby.

He sat there on the couch holding me, and hugged me until I finally smiled.

That's why I love him.

Because he gives me a chance to calm down,

& loves on me even when I freak out on him like some kind of crazy person.

The rest of the night was great.
We went to Chuys, and I ate 4 baskets of chips by myself, and 3 margaritas.
Obviously, I'm preparing for spring break/bikini season.
Haha I was definitely hurting by the time we left!
We stayed there for a long time, & I told him stories about all the crazy kids in my class.
& he told me stories about the weirdos at his work, & all of the businesses he wants to start up.
Even though it started out rough, It ended up being perfect.

This was sposeda wait till tomorrow, BUT I just couldnt wait any longer!!!

This is me & my big sister Tara on Christmas morning.
We look so sweet & innocent right?
Well I was at least.
Tara on the other hand...well she always liked to be the boss.
As soon as I was born she took on the "big sister/mom" role & referred to me as
"MONICA LEE!" on the regular.
It was always, "Monica Lee! get outta there!" "Monica Lee, that's MY stuff!!!"
Tara was never afraid to express her opinions & she did so quite often.
On this delightful Christmas morning, Dad had his video camera out like usual,
and was recording us opening our presents from santa.
Every once in a while when our family is together we'll whip out an old video
& watch it together & laugh till we cry.
We were watching this video & had just finished listening to Tara boss me around.
(of course)
And then we heard one sentence...
This sentence will never be forgotten in my family.
All of a sudden, In a sweet little 5 year old voice, we hear...
"I'm sick of all you slackers, just slackin around!"
Yup, that's my sister for ya.
To this day, we have NO idea where that came from.
And to this day we all continue to laugh hysterically at that little sentence.
I am SO thankful that my dad was obsessed with recording
the majority of our lives on his video camera.

One more thing...
I need yalls advice real quick!

Healthy Shakes & Summer crafts.

IT'S HERE!

It even came with a bunch of yummy recipes!

Well it actually got here on Saturday morning!
And I started using it on Sunday night.
& let me just tell you, It is DELICIOUS!
Basically I'm just going to replace my usual "eat everything" dinners with this!
(It's a meal replacement shake)
I probably wont be having it every single day since Kyle & I love going out to eat.
But I'll be sure to let yall know how I like it & if im seeing results or changes!
I've been having a small snack with it also cuz I'm usually still a little hungry after I have it.

In other news...
I dont know about yall,

but I have NEVER been more excited for summer to get here.

Now, I'm always excited for summer time, but this year it's different.

This is my last summer before I become a "real grown up"

and have to get a big girl job.

This semester has been SO busy for me & I just cant wait to have free time!!

So today I'm going to share all of the lovely little things I want to make this summer.

This love affair began about a year ago when I first started watching "The Voice".

Which by the way, is one of the best shows ever.

I have never seen a more adorable smile in my life.

So anyways, All I really need to do is convince him that I am better than this

Victoria's Secret model girlfriend of his.

& then ask Kyle if he's okay with me going on a few dates with Adam.

I'm sure Kyle and the VS model will be totally fine with it.

This Friday Night

Last night was one of those nights,

You know, the ones where you realize how lucky you are & you just cant stop smiling.

Well, the night began a little something like this.

Kyle & I went to Olive Garden for an early dinner,

We were told the wait would be 10 minutes,

20 minutes later we decided they had forgotten about us

so we went ahead and ordered some drinks.

(That's mine up there ^)

Unfortunately they didnt have my firefly iced tea vodka, so I had to man up & order myself a beer.

Which was delicious, because I'm a huge dos xx's fan anyways.

Once they finally realized we never got seated they let us get an appetizer for free.

Me: "YYYYYEEEESSSSSSSS"

So, along with our bread sticks & salad we also got spinach & artichoke dip!

We were literally both stuffed before we could even order.

But we ordered anyways & ate till our tummys felt like they were gonna explode.

Afterwards in the car, we were just jammin to the radio when...

"Get low" came on... dont act like you dont know that song!

"To the windowwwww, to the walll"

I sang/rapped every single word in the most unfortunate white girl way.

I rapped and danced away in my seat while Kyle was just staring & laughing,

and surprisingly telling me how sexy I was?

I need to start rapping more often. ;]

So the song ended right as we pulled into my apt, & we walked up, opened my door,

turned on the radio on my phone and continued our little dance party.

The party finally ended & we were laying down exhausted on my couch,

and I decided I was going to be really sweet.

I told Kyle to get comfortable cuz I was going to give him a full body massage.

The look on his face was priceless.

So I did, from his little ears all the way down to his toes,

and we both loved every minute of it.

It gets even better.

Since I was oh so kind, we got to watch Say Yes to the Dress for an entire hour!

& I know Kyle secretly loved it, he was giving his opinions on girls dresses & asking questions.

It was so cute.

Oh, & remember how in yesterdays post I wrote a letter to Kyle

saying I was going to give him 637 kisses?

It happened.

Maybe even a few extra!

Dear Supervisor, thank you for being an extremely easy grader and giving me a 100 on the lesson that you observed me teaching yesterday, you have officially boosted my confidence level in the classroom. Dear Love Handles, Please get the hell away from me. Dear Boyfriend, I'm going to kiss you 637 times tomorrow and make you watch The Twilight Saga with me, get ready. Dear Shakeology, You're going to be here soon & you better do your job & make me better looking because my body hates me right now. Dear BFF since 7th grade, I hope you had a wonderful birthday yesterday, I am real real sad that we couldnt celebrate & play at the park together, why did you have to move cities? Dear Smartphone, are you going to give me arthritis one day? Like should I be preparing myself? Dear Coffee, I love you so much, and I will never leave you. Dear Sun, please stop teasing me with your one day appearances, I need you in my life and on my skin.

Cardigan: Target, Dress: F21

Welcome to therapy.

Hi, My name is Monica,

and I am a stress/emotional eater.

It's true yall.

I have officially gained 6 lbs since this semester started.

Like it's getting a tad ridiculous.

I like to come home and eat everything in sight.

And then sit down and get all my work done, and maybe have a snack while im doing that.

What's happening to me?!?!

Since my own will power obviously isnt doing the trick,

I've gotta make a change & do something to get myself healthy & happy again.

There's this thing called Shakeology.

Have any of you heard of it?

It's basically a meal replacement shake, that's super delicious, and is really good for you.

I know a lot of people that have used it and say it's the greatest thing ever.

Well, I broke down and just ordered it.

I have the biggest sweet tooth in the world.

That is not an exaggeration by the way.

I have been known to eat an entire gallon of ice cream in one day,

and still want more.

This little shake, stops sweet cravings, TASTES like ice cream,

AND it has tons of nutrients and amazing healthy things for my body.

It's definitely worth the money to me.

It's a little pricey, but if you think about it, it's really just $4 a day for a meal.

I'm going to try it out for a month and see if I like it & if it's really for me,

They say you see better results if you work out,

obviously that's another area where i'm slacking,

I may not be working out every day, but I can get myself to the gym every once in a while.

I'm REALLY excited about this.

I'm excited that I'm going to have a yummy shake to have for dinner every night,

that's actually healthy and fueling my body with nutrients and all those other good things!

I'm excited that I'm doing something good for myself & my health.

Even though it was really hard for me to type my credit card # in and press "place order".

I know that this is going be perfect for me,

especially with my schedule right now.

I dont necessarily need to lose a lot of weight,

I just want to make healthier decisions,

and I really think this is a great way to start.

Weeeeee! I cant wait for it to get here!

This is what my night consisted of last night.

pinterest and wine.

I am so sleep deprived and cringe at the thought of typing another lesson plan.

So I did what any girl would do when they're trying to escape reality.

And I spent my entire evening

Pinning hundreds of delicious recipes that I will probably never make,

Stalking cute outfits until I discover the store that sells it

& add it to my "shopping bag" with absolutely no intention on actually buying it.

Staring at "fitness inspiration" pictures while eating a large bag of doritos.

Memorizing make up techniques which might be helpful if I actually knew how to apply eye shadow.

Laughing out loud at inappropriate e-cards, by myself.

So, I wanted to say thank you.

Thank you pinterest, for helping me escape my life

& pretend that I am the most domesticated, healthy and stylish person around.

Yesterday I wasnt feeling too great but I still managed to get myself to the gym!

And holy crap I am feeling it today, but I love itttt!

My butt & legs are so incredibly sore.

I went easy on myself since it's been a while lol

3 sets of squats-with bar

3 sets of lunges-holding 10 lb weights

3 sets of deadlifts-holding 15 lb weights

3 sets of side bends-holding 15 lb weights

30 minutes on the elliptical on interval.

Okay, now that's NOTHING compared to the work outs I used to do regularly.

and I'm THIS sore from just doing that ^^ that means I need to get back on my grind.

Haha.

Since I wasnt feeling well Kyle took me to get my favorite soup for dinner.

Broccoli & Cheese

Mmmm it was delicious!

& then we went to one of our favorite places!

& got some movies so we could have ourselves a nice relaxing movie night.

We love movie nights.

He doesnt know I took this one. Teehee.

So anyways, the original plan was to get, "The Texas Killing Fields",

"The Twilight Saga" & then a boy movie for him...

But Of course they were sold out of the movies I wanted.

So we ended up getting 2 boy movies, "Moneyball" & "Drive"

We ended up watching Moneyball & it was pretty good!

He definitely owes me a chick flick night though!

Which, by the way, I dont think has ever happened since we've been together.

& it probably never will happen.

Oh well.

So anyways I think I'm gonna start making Sundays my "run days".

Of course I'll do cardio during the week, but I'll mainly do the elliptical & bike.

Today, I'm going to run 3 miles & then do 2 pilates videos that focus on my core.

I'll post the videos that I end up doing tomorrow for yall :]

So, I have not been myself lately.

I have been lazy and unmotivated.

Since I'm student teaching this semester I barely have any free time.

It's really sad.
Therefore, I havent been working out. at all.
This is not okay.

By the time I get home every day I am just so exhausted I cant seem to get myself to the gym.

But this really needs to change, working out makes me happy.

It makes me feel confident and just all around better about myself.

So it's about time that I lock it up and get it together,
I gotta get it right and get it tight.
So, I somehow need to force myself to go to the gym AT LEAST 3 times a week.
I'm only going to get busier & busier as the semester goes on
so I need to get some kind of routine going.
and STICK with it.
Oh, and I also need some major motivation.
I dont know what's wrong with me lately, I just have NO desire to work out :/
And on top of that, I love eating foods that have no nutritional value whatsoever.
So, this girls gotta get some motivation somehow!
That being said...I'm going to take my
"Who doesnt need a little motivation?" board on pinterest,
& share it with yall.
Because just maybe some of yall are lacking in the motivation area as well!

Okay, so I'm sure some of you are rolling your eyes about now,

thinking "please shutup, you're tiny!"

Yes, I'm lucky and dont really gain a lot of weight when I dont work out.

BUT...

I lose muscle REAL fast, and my poor little butt is what shrinks first,

Let's be honest, nobody had ever uttered the words,

"Ugh I wish my butt was flat and saggy"

Okay, okay my butt isnt necessarily saggy but it could definitely use a boost!

So I'm the girl that get's that "skinny fat" look,

Dont lie ladies, that's almost worse than being overweight,

if not worse it's just as bad.

So anyways, today when I get home

I'm gonna have my work out clothes laid out and ready for me!

Maybe I can get myself some baby abs and a perky butt by spring break?

Actually that's coming up pretty soon... DEFINITELY by summer! :]

The lotion that changed my life.

Let's get straight to the point.

Everyone looks better with a tan.

I have been in love with the sun ever since I was just a little nugget.

Lucky for me I have skin that tans very easily and my tan usually stays for a long time.

Not everyone is so fortunate though.

I used to get tanning memberships every winter,

and then I realized how awful those beds were to my skin.

I'm not one of those lucky girls who has beautiful flawless olive skin,

I get freckles, and moles, and all those great things that every woman despises.

(not so much the freckles)

So what's a girl to do to get a nice tan without damaging her skin?

I cant afford to get spray tanned, and they kind of scare me to be honest.

So I went on a search.

I needed to find myself some kind of tanning lotion that REALLY worked.

I tried a lot of different things and finally I found a tanning lotion that worked for me.

The tan looked SO real, and it basically worked over night!

I never got streaks or weird orange looking lines

(unless I was in a hurry & not paying attention)

This lotion was amazing.

Everyone would constantly ask me,

"Omg, how are you so tan?! you look so good!"

My response? "Oh thanks! ya it's natural, I'm just really lucky!"

KIDDING! haha

I told everyone about this lotion and how great it was!

okay, okay, are yall anxious yet?!

Jergens Natural Glow EXPRESS.

Now, I've used the other Jergens gradual tanning lotions

and I never saw a change in my skin color.

You have to make sure you get the "EXPRESS" kind.

This lotion works really well for me so I dont use it too often,

Maybe twice a week, if I'm going somewhere special or just want to look a little more sun kissed.

I put it on all over right after the shower and I wait a little while before I put clothes on,

I dont think it would stain your clothes,

but I just like to let my skin air out a little.

Another extremely important thing, ALWAYS wash your hands after you put it on.

I've made the mistake a few times, just because I was lazy.

I didnt wash my hands and I had orange-ish streaks in between my fingers.

not cute.

I also use use this lotion on my face sometimes,

but when I do, I always do it at night right before bed.

One of my really good friends also started using this lotion

& she is more fair skinned, and it still worked for her!

So for those of you looking for a tanning lotion I highly suggest this one!

I cant guarantee that it will work for everyone, but it has done wonders for me!

Our Valentines Day

Sometimes cards arent necessary.

We had ourselves a nice little valentines night in.

Since I was gone all day, Kyle took the liberty of cooking us a delicious meal.

(Chicken & Dumplings)

And bringing me some yummy wine.

He's just the cutest. :]

So anyways, we had a little picnic in my living room and it was perfect.

I was SO exhausted from my long day, A nice relaxing night

with my lovebug was JUST what I needed.

Oh and did I mention he's buying us rodeo tickets?!

Yaaaaaay!

This past weekend I was commenting on some blogs and found me some inspiration.

I was checking out Ashleigh's latest post over at Waking Up In Vegas.

And she shared her story about when she "knew" that her guy was the one.

Everyone needs to go read it because it is SO sweet and it inspired me to do a similar post!

We had been together just short of a year.

Everything was still exciting and new.

He still gave me those same butterflies that I would always get

when I saw his name pop up on my phone shortly after we met.

It was perfect.

We made each other laugh, we were spontaneous,

and we wanted to spend every second together.

One of our favorite things to do was go on "sonic runs",

I have a slight addiction to ice cream & he'd do anything to see me smile.

We would jump in his black truck and head over to sonic.

Buy an oreo or butterfinger blast to share and laugh until our cheeks hurt.

Kyle was on the track team at our college and I ran track in highschool.

This might freak/gross some of you out but we thought it was the funnest thing ever.

haha

One of us would take a bite of the blast and then the other would say "STICK!"

(in track when running a relay that's what you say when passing the baton)

and then we'd kiss each other with our mouths full of ice cream.

We loved it.

We had "sonic runs" regularly, but this night was different.

I started noticing things.

How I would look up & he'd be looking at me with the biggest smile on his face.

How he'd constantly melt my heart by asking, "Why are you so pretty?"

How he really listened to me when I told him pointless stories.

How he genuinely cared about my happiness.

How he squeezed my hand anytime someone would mention "forever" or "marriage".

How he kissed my head every single time I would rest it on his shoulder.

That night we went back to his house, and popped in a movie.

We've never been good at watching movies,

I always have to start up a conversation.

We were laying in his bed laughing, and making fun of each other,

when I asked him, "Do you like me?"

His reply: "No"

It was quiet for about 1 second, and then he said.

"I love you Monica"

I dont think I have ever smiled so big in my entire life.

Kyle is not the kind of guy that enjoys "sharing his feelings" or being "lovey dovey"

His family still doesnt understand how I "deal" with him being so

un-romantic, and unable to show his feelings.

But when it's just us 2...

Just Me, Kyle, and this crazy love that we share

He's the most perfect, thoughtful, caring, and loving man that I have ever known.

(besides my daddy)

After he told me he loved me I just stared at him with this goofy smile,

Until finally I realized that I should probably let him know that I love him as well.

And so I did, and then we smiled at each other like weirdos for a little while.

Since then, he has continually brought so much joy to my life.

I never realized that you could be with someone for 4 years

and still be in the "honeymoon stage".

To this day, he still makes me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world.

And although he's not perfect, and we have our ups & downs.

I wouldn't trade what we have for ANYTHING.

Patric is in town!

So the first thing we did was went to our favorite mexican restaurant to get some margaritas!

Duh.

We laughed a lot.

and talked about our lives.

Our original plan was to get our bowl on after dinner!

but after the food and drinks and tons of laughs we were a little worn out.

We made a random trip to Kyles friends house

because they just HAD to show us this crazy loud fire work that he had.

Favorite boys ever.

So we walked ourselves into the woods in pitch black darkness.

Apparently we were about to do something illegal.

(I love how I seem to get myself in these situations)

And they set off the fire work and HOLY CRAP it was loud!

It's so funny how boys get SO excited over the littlest things.

I heard the fire work, agreed that it was loud and was ready to go back inside.

The boys were just in awe out the loudness and thought it was the coolest thing.

Gotta love em.

So anyways, we didnt end up going bowling because apparently we're all 86 year olds.

But I'm pretty sure we're going today!

As well as going to see Emory Quinn perform at this little place called Floores!

Do I know who Emory Quinn is?

NOPE! haha

But I do love country music,

and this girl will do anything that sounds remotely fun

after the long weeks I've been having!

I am officially one of "those" people.

You know, the ones that say the most inappropriate things at the wrong times.

As you all know (most of you anyway) I am currently in my last semester of college.

Student Teaching.

DUN.DUN.DUN.

Anyways, I was placed in an inclusion classroom so I have 2 teachers that I'll be working with.

The special ed teacher is a male who may or may not be somewhat attractive,

& the regular ed teacher is a female who is very sweet.

So, these are my "co teachers" that I'll be working with every single day until May.

Okay things are about to get weird...

The other night I had a strange dream about my co teacher, We'll call him Mr. A.

Dont worry, it wasnt sexual.

He basically just professed his love for me.

and it got awkward, because i'm in love with someone else, duh.

So anyways, since then, I've had this awful paranoid feeling that he KNOWS about my dream.

That somehow, someway, he knows that I had this dream about him,

And that he thinks I have a weird schoolgirl crush on him.

So anyways, My friend Kate and I (also a student teacher) are walking down the hall,

and Mr. A just so happens to be walking towards us...

He was carrying his laptop, and had a mouse cord wrapped around him,

and he was holding the mouse cord to where the mouse was dangling around by his leg.

...It looked funny...

Brace yourselves.

So Kate & I are just walking and talking, and Kate says,

"Ha! He's just swinging that mouse around like it's nothing"

and then brilliant ol me, decides to say out loud...

"You're just swingin that mouse around arent ya! :]"

Conscious: "What Monica?! What does that even mean?! I know Kate just said it & it sounded funny but that doesnt mean you repeat it out loud TO that person!"

This pretty much sums up his reaction.

The Awkward, "I'm uncomfortable" laugh, a long with an eye brow raise.

It was about 10 seconds later when I realized that what I had just said could sound extremely inappropriate & sexual.

Did I really just sexually harass the teacher that I have to see every single day for the next 3 months?

Like did he legitimately think I was talking about his di**?!

I am mortified.

And I am certain that my face was blood red for at least 4 hours after that incident.

Needless to say, these next few months should be interesting.

Since Kyle and I are both SO busy during the week,

I'm kind of thinking I'll do the dinner this weekend,

& then surprise him with a little romance on Tuesday night.

Things I learned this weekend...

It's cold outside!

Things Learned:
1. Texas Sweet Tea is the best drink ever and makes me 10x funnier than I already am ;]
2. I will never be able to give up coffee. ever.
3. The only reason I watch Transformers is to stare at Megan Fox's perfect body so JUST maybe I'll feel motivated enough to work out the next day.
4. I want to punch every single person that lives above me in the face.
5. Buying a Victorias Secret swimsuit doesnt mean I'll look like a victorias secret model wearing it.
6. Swinging at a park is quite possibly the most relaxing and freeing activity.
7. Always make time for people, always.
8. Stress is the devil. literally. Stop worrying, God is in control.

This past week was a really rough one for me,
I kind of let my stress get the best of me
& wasnt the most pleasant person in the world (to say the least).
Even though this week isnt going to be any easier,
I'm going to do my best to find the positive in every single situation that I'm put in.
I'm going to be appreciative of the life God has blessed me with.
I will not take people/time for granted.
And I will continue to smile no matter how exhausted/stressed/sad/angry I am.
So here are some words of encouragement that help keep me going throughout the week, and hopefully they will help some of yall who need a little boost this next week!

This weekend Kyle & I went to one of our FAVORITE restaurants,

We literally forgot it existed

but somehow it randomly came to my mind when Kyle asked what I was hungry for last night.

THANK GOD because it was heaven!

So anyways, it's called Boston's, & they have the best pizza in the world.

Really though.

And since we were starving we decided to get an appetizer while we waited,

& guess what?!

they have the most amazing appetizers in the world too!

We ended up getting the spinach & artichoke dip

(we get that for an appetizer EVERYWHERE we go)

silly us, we were thinking it would just be the same old dip that we always get.

WRONG.

Instead of chips they gave us in-house garlic parmesan pizza bread.

(I just drooled on myself)

I think the total time it spent on our table was about 3 1/2 minutes.

Everyone MUST try it if they have a Boston's near them.

Then we got our favorite ultimate pepperoni pizza.

we tried our best to finish but we had 2 pieces left over that we just couldnt fit in our tummies.

Best pizza ever.

So anyways, After we stuffed ourselves we were definitely ready for some couch time,

we spent the rest of our night on my big brown couch, making funnies, inventing new kisses, and watching shows on netflix.

I have a problem and I need yalls help...

My name is Monica, And I am addicted to coffee.

This is my life, every morning.

Okay so obviously i'm a coffee lover and I drink it almost every morning,

butttttt I cant really afford crest white strips anymore

Which means, the coffees gotta go before my teeth turn black forever.

This is where I need yalls help!

I really want to try to start drinking healthy teas in the morning instead,

but I want the same affect that coffee gives me, and I want it to taste good too...

Are any of you special tea drinkers? What should I try?

Everytime I buy coffee at the grocery store I walk by the tea aisle,

and i've always been curious about all of the different kinds...

you know, there's those special ones that say they're "calming", or "sleepytime".

I just need somethinggggg

Something that tastes good, that I can drink in the morning to wake me up, but that is also good for me.

Last Night.

Last night, after I had finished my "jumbo margarita for only $1 extra",

the conversation went a little like this...

Me: Let's pick celebrities that we're allowed to have sex with & it not be considered cheating.

Kyle: *sips beer*

(I'm anxiously awaiting his response, knowing that I'm going to be pissed at any name that comes out of his mouth, b/c he's not supposed to think anyone else in the world is good looking besides me. duh)

Kyle: Ellen Degeneres. Hands down!...Rosie O'donnell tight second.

I immediately started dying laughing.

(obviously it was funnier at the time b/c the tequila had kicked in)

Now, although Kyle really does love Ellen,

I know he obviously would never be interested in sleeping with her.

The fact that he completely avoided the question by making me laugh hysterically,

so that he wouldnt have to deal with the whole,

"oh really? that's what you like? why dont you go date her?! go ahead, give her a call!! Sorry I cant afford a personal trainer and spray tanner to come to my house every day!!!!"

Hahaha Ohhh the lovely things that men have to deal with.

Kyle is just too clever now,

I love that he knows better than to get himself into those tricky situations I like to throw at him every once in a while.

Things I've always known

Today, I discovered my new favorite cereal.

What is it? Kashi Cinnamon Crumble!

mmm I'm actually eating some rightttt this second.

Today, I discovered that if you dont have junk food in your house than you wont eat junk food.

(DUH)

I've always known that it's important to keep fresh fruit in your fridge so you grab that to snack on.

Today I actually had fresh fruit in my fridge to snack on instead of chips that give me love handles :]

Today I discovered that my addiction to string cheese is growing stronger & stronger.

Best string cheese brand!

I've always known that working out makes me 100x happier.

Today I worked out for the 1st time in a LONG time, and I feel like a new person.

So, what I really want to say is...

Today I discovered that working out is and always will be an important part of my life.

No matter how exhausted, sleep deprived, overwhelmed, or stressed out I am,

I need to focus on the feeling that I'm going to have once the work out is finished,

rather than thinking all day "ugh I have to make myself work out tonight".

Not only does working out make me look and feel healthy and beautiful,

It instantly lifts my mood and gives me more energy.

People dont just work out to improve their physical appearance,

you gotta keep your insides healthy too people!

That being said, I know i've already mentioned that I'll be starting insanity on Tuesday!

So, I'm going to do my best to stick with the routine even though this semester is going to completely drain me.

Plus, I gotta tighten up for spring break anyways!

Today was my first day of student teaching,

and I feel like I could sleep for the next 6 days straight.

My teacher is awesome, which I am SO thankful for, but I'm still a little unsure about the kids..haha

I have 5th graders now and I am so used to the cute little ones that are in love with me.

I'm back!!

Just got back in town from the wedding, I had the major sads about having to leave early :/

but this girls got her very first day of student teaching tomorrow and has to be up at 5 am!

*sigh*

I was so excited to see Liz this weekend! (the old rooms)

We went to Kona Grill for happy hour when she arrived (of course)

and had ourselves a few margaritas (2)

unfortunately we are both embarrassing light weights, and 2 was really allllll we needed

;] if ya know what I mean. haha

but anyways, I guess it was good that we had an early night

since we had to be up early to head out of town for the wedding.

(which was so beautfiful!! pictures coming soon)

After we arrived in Austin there was about 83 million things we were trying to get done,

but on one of our errands we just so happened to pass by a little table full of goodies.

So what did I do? Started diggin!

I've never been so excited in my life while digging through another persons "trash"

and guess what I found?!

A TOASTER! (i NEED one!)

You know what they say though!

One persons trash = another persons treasure. :]

Although I was extremely excited about my new toaster,

now that it's actually mine I am extremely skeptical and grossed out and can't actually imagine myself eating something out of it haha

oh well, maybe I can clean it out real good somehow.

Oh and just to maybe make yall giggle a little...

I made Kyle come with me to get my friend lingerie for her bachelorette party since we were already out.

He was thrilled.

Just a casual date night

I just want to go ahead and apologize for the same boring poses in all of my outfit pics,

I am no model, obviously, therefore I dont have the skills to look cute and natural doing fun different things in front of a camera.

Moving on...

Last night I did something crazy...

I sacrificed my favorite monday night reality tv shows to go on a date with Kyle.

I know, I know...I am SUCH a good girlfriend.

We went to go see the movie Contraband, and it was actually pretty awesome!

So if you and your man are wanting a movie to see, I suggest that one!

(It's more of a "guys" movie but I really liked it!)

After the movie Kyle was SO kind in offering to buy me some ice cream, because we apparently didnt take in enough calories at the movie theatre ;]
So we ran to the corner store and bought a pint of cookies & cream to share.
And right before bed he was so sweet and sang me a lullaby.
I believe it was called "cuz i'm a pillow head"
It was an impromptu rap done with some interesting dance moves,
and I've never been so proud to call him mine.

My mom is one of the most amazing people...ever.

seriously.

She always made sure our bangs were looking fab.

She never let me go hungry.

She's always encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone.

I truly do have one of the most amazing mothers in the world,

She is the strongest woman I have ever known,

She is the perfect balance, between a mother and a friend.

She has supported me and loved me and been there for me in every area of my life.

I am in major need of some new beauty products, I've been using the same old stuff basically since Jr High!

(NOT okay)

Unfortunately I dont have the money to go & buy myself all new make-up at this point,

but I can still document all of the things I'd love to have right? :]

I have never really been a huge make-up fan,

I've always been the girl to throw on some bronzer, blush & mascara and that was as good as it was gonna get.

Butttt as I got older I stepped over to the wild side (HA!) and started using eye liner.

And i've always wanted to try new things, just not sure what are the best brands, products etc...

But anyways, here are the things i've got my eyes on...

Benefit tinted moisturizer, Since I'm not a fan of foundation & have super sensitive skin this would be SO perfect for me.

Translucent touch up powder, I hear this stuff is fabulous! Thoughts? Have any of you used it? love it, hate it? Help a sister out ;]

Benefit ohh la lift! Which is like an instant eye lift, it brightens and perks up tired eyes.

Perfecting eye primer!

I am an eye primer virgin, never used it! And this lady at Sephora said that was a big no no.

So, this definitely had to be on the list!

I have heard so many great things about the NAKED palette, and now I wantttt it.

Peanut Butter lovers unite

Today I want to share with yall one of my favorite things to eat for breakfast!

(actually you can eat it for any meal of the day!)

Okay, now it's going to sound maybe a little weird, and it looks pretty gross, but it's SO good!

I am a HUGE fan of peanut butter, I put it on/in everything!

My boyfriend actually introduced me to this, and it seems pretty common & simple.

All you do is bake yourself some biscuits, this morning I made some buttermilk flaky Grands Biscuits.

And then for the ingredients?

Peanut butter & Jelly!

Scoop yourself a spoonful or 2 of peanut butter and put it on a plate, and then squeeze yourself some jelly right on top, then stir away!

Stir it up really well to where it looks like a big ugly purplish gooey blob.

Then all you do is spread some of that goodness on your biscuit, or dip it while you eat it!

I personally just tear bite size pieces of my biscuit off and dip it in the pb&j.

Does anyone else do this?!

I eat pb&j sandwiches ALL the time, but it tastes different when it's stirred together!

TRYY IT!!

Since I'm already talking about peanut butter I might as well share another one of my favorite treats.

Now this one i'm about to tell yall about is definitely the best thing my tastebuds have ever experienced.

I've always had a major sweet tooth and have never been able to just have 1 bowl of ice cream.

I'm also always coming up with random little things to add to my ice cream to give it a little extra flavor.

My boyfriend also introduced me to this idea,

Putting peanut butter in your ice cream!

I've only tried it in vanilla but im sure it would be good in other flavors!

I prefer to use crunchy peanut butter but creamy is yummy also!

All you do is get you a bowl of vanilla ice cream, a spoonful of peanut butter, then stir it in really well,

you can put however much peanut butter you'd like, it really just depends on the persons preference.

But it is literally the most amazing thing ever, and I would eat it every single day if I could.
