Bridal Shower Day!

This Saturday I had my bridal shower, and it was PERFECT!

Dress: ShopMCE.com
Belt: Kate Spade
Heels: Forever21

Here are the amazing hostesses who made this shower happen!

and a few of the adorable decorations...

and A LOT of amazing people…
My mamaw, myself and Kyle's nana!

Mom, Mamaw, Me, Nana, Mindy (Kyle's nana and mom)

My side of the family!

Claire, one of the sweetest girls I know, seriously love her to death!

Kyle's cousin Krissa, myself and Rachel!
Rachel is doing the flowers for the wedding!

Brandy and I!

Me and the girls on Kyle's side!
(minus his sister who was at school)

Me and my mom and mom to be!

Love these girls, been best friends for a LONG time!

a few of my beautiful bridesmaids!
(I have 7 total)

sissy and mom!

I'm not going to lie I was SO nervous about this day…
I know that sounds so weird and silly but I DO NOT like to be the center of attention.
It makes me anxious and sweaty and awkward and turn red and I just don't like it.
(so naturally I'm going to be a disaster on my wedding day)
But it actually went perfectly!
Of course there are always awkward moments but over all it was so much fun,
and I loved seeing everyone and getting a bunch of gifts was definitely a plus!
We played this game where they asked Kyle a bunch of questions previously
and I had to guess his answers!
That brought a WHOLE lot of laughter to the room, and made me miss Kyle a lot.
Afterwards I opened presents and then after that all of the photos started taking place!
Once it started to fizzle down all of my girlfriends wanted to go see Kyle and I's new place
since it was in the same neighborhood as the shower!
As soon as we got there I looked in the mirror and holy cow can you say HOT MESS?!
Sweating, and talking, and laughing, and crying makes a girl look ROUGH….
Which makes me REALLY nervous about the wedding…
but obviously I'll be wearing more "emotion proof" make up haha, at least I hope so.

I've GOT to start doing trial runs with my hair and make up.
There's seriously SO much to do y'all.
Like I feel like my mom and I make 100 things and as soon as we want to relax
we have to make 200 more of something else.
Phewwwwww, it's all worth it though, and it's fun!

I need to share pictures with y'all of things we've already made!
Eep can't wait to show y'all THE REAL WEDDING!
Of course it needs to happen first…

27 DAYS!!!

I need a blog makeover!!

I've been so busy wedding planning and decorating our new home!
With all these changes happening I can't help but think about this old blog of mine.
It is in MAJOR need of a make over!
Who can help me?!
Nothing too fancy, I'm really into rustic/vintage everything, and I like simple.
Simple is always good.

If you or anyone you know would be willing to help a girl out,
just let me know!

Kyle and I have been busy working on our new home!
(well our home for the next year at least)
I can't wait to show y'all pictures!
It's hard because there are SO many things we want to do,
but we can't because we are renting it and it's not actually ours.
But hey, that's okay because we are getting a lot of ideas for when we do buy our first home.

As most of you know Kyle and I really enjoy eating, and eating a lot.
We ended up making this DELICIOUS recipe yesterday and I'm SO excited to share it!
I actually found the recipe on "light cooking" which is extremely surprising when you look at the title..
"Chicken, Bacon, Ranch Mac & Cheese"
I don't know about you, but "light" isn't exactly what comes to mind when I read that.
and then I read the recipe and realized that they only put teeny amounts of all the good stuff!
Well, we changed that REAL quick.

Here is the recipe that I copied, but we used 4 pieces of bacon, and way more cheese.
(you can never have too much bacon, or too much cheese)

Ingredients:

  •  ounces uncooked elbow macaroni
  • slice applewood-smoked bacon (we used 4 pieces)
  • 8 ounces skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups fat-free milk (we used whole milk)
  • 1/3 cup condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 3/4 cup (3 ounces) shredded six-cheese Italian blend (such as Sargento) (we used more than 3/4)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded colby-Jack cheese
Directions:

  1. 1. Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt and fat; drain.
  2. 2. Cook bacon in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon from pan, reserving drippings in pan. Finely chop bacon; set aside. Increase heat to medium-high. Add chicken to drippings in pan; sauté 6 minutes or until done.
  3. 3. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat; sprinkle flour evenly into pan. Cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly with a whisk. Combine milk and soup, stirring with a whisk; gradually add milk mixture to saucepan, stirring with a whisk. Bring to a boil; cook 2 minutes or until thick. Remove from heat; let stand 4 minutes or until sauce cools to 155°. Add Italian cheese blend, onion powder, garlic powder, dill, and salt, stirring until cheese melts. Stir in pasta and chicken.
  4. 4. Preheat broiler.
  5. 5. Spoon mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle evenly with reserved bacon and colby-Jack cheese. Broil 3 minutes or until cheese melts.

We were a little worried it wasn't going to turn out good,
but holy crap it was AMAZING!

This New Years was pretty simple, nothing too exciting!
Kyle and I (and Kyle's sister and her boyfriend) decided to spend NYE with their mom.
None of us really felt like doing anything too crazy anyways.
Kyle and I are basically 97 and we are perfectly fine with that.

Mine all mine <3 6 years and counting!

Kyle's beautiful sister Michelle and her boyfriend Alex!

Kyle's little sister and Mom, and me of course!
Could they be any more gorgeous?!

Kyle's mom took us all to dinner at Saltgrass Steakhouse,
I skipped the steak this time and got the hickory chicken…
which is chicken smothered in Bar BQ sauce, cheese, and bacon.
Basically Heaven on a plate.
After dinner we went back to the house had some wine and played some games.
I know it sounds lame, but we have SO much fun.
Taboo is our favorite, and it never fails I always end up laughing until I cry.

Kyle and I barely made it to midnight.
But I knew I HAD to kiss him right when it turned 12:00, I ALWAYS have too!
I was literally already in bed at this point.
I would say it was a successful New Years.
We got to spend it with Family and actually had a lot of fun.

Can't wait for all of the amazing things 2014 is going to bring!

This girl said YES to a very special dress.

This weekend was SO much fun.
I FINALLY got to ask all my bridesmaids to officially be my bridesmaids lol
Saturday Kyles mom, sister, and cousin came down to go dress shopping with me!
As well as my mom and sister (duh)

We had such a good time!
I tried on a few different styles and everyone fell in love with
this one particular dress.
It was not the style I had ever imagined myself in, but I couldnt help but love it
because of how everyone re-acted when they saw me in it!
I also kept remembering everyone saying
"you'll be surprised, most people fall in love with something completely different than they imagined"
We went to 2 different bridal shops and this dress was by far everyones favorite.
I left thinking that that dress MAY be the one I'm walking down the aisle in.
After I got home I kept second guessing that dress and looking through
all of the pictures we took of me in all of the other dresses.
Something just didn't feel right.
The dress was absolutely STUNNING, and I did feel beautiful in it.
But it just didn't feel like me.
I think I was so in love with the way everyone re-acted that I felt like
that one just HAD to be it, even though I didn't feel 100% confident in it.
I thought about it, and slept on it.
And I just had such an uneasy feeling that I knew I needed to keep looking.
The next night my mom and I went back to one of the stores,
because this one specific dress kept popping into my head.
I put it on, walked around, stared in the mirror, and just KNEW.
It felt like me, it looked like me, it was MY dress.
I feel like Kyle will love this one more than any of the other ones I tried on too.
So, after walking around in it and staring at myself in it for about 30-45 minutes
I FINALLY said yes and decided it was THE ONE.
It feels like a HUGE weight has been lifted off my shoulders now!
I am beyond excited and can't wait to see Kyle's face when he sees me in it.
and I CANT wait to show y'all either!!!
EEP!
