Weekend Recap + Did they say what I think they just said

Is it too late to do a weekend recap of two weekends ago?!
(Really wish I could add emojis in here)
Goodness, I'm behind!

Snag this cute suit for under $20!!

Kyle and I spent a lot of time in the sun this past weekend.
On Saturday we headed to my parents for some pool action,
followed by a MUCH needed dinner at Texas Roadhouse.
If y'all haven't ever had their Chicken Critter Salad, i'm urging you,
GO NOW.
Hands down, best salad ever.
 [with ranch of course]
Dang it, now that I typed that I need one right.this.second!

Anyways, I'm thinking about doing a post soon about,
"What not to say to a pregnant woman"
If you follow me on instagram you maaaaaay have seen a rant on my stories this Saturday.

WAY too many people have given me their 2 cents on my pregnant belly,
and I had just had E N O U G H.
So thankful for all of my fellow mamas and sweet friends though.
You all shared similar stories with me and cheered me up REAL quick.
I love y'all.

For those who have no clue what i'm talking about,
There were multiple different instances where people had let me know
that my belly was way too big for how far along I am,
and well, I let it get under my skin.

BUT i'm feeling much better now and know that unwanted comments and opinions
are just something that comes along with pregnancy!

I love this {big} belly of mine, and I am so incredibly proud of my body and what it's doing.
For all you other pregnant mamas who have had similar experiences,
you're not alone and you're PERFECT!
To all you pregnant mamas who aren't showing yet and getting the,
"ummm are you sure you're pregnant??" "are you feeding that growing baby??" etc...
Hang in there!
You are perfect as well and everyones body changes and grows at it's own pace.
We mamas need to all stick together and support each other no matter what,
no more body shaming, and judgment!

Have a happy Tuesday Y'all!

Life Update + Date Night

Things are going to be changing a little bit in my world soon!
I officially applied to be a Substitute Teacher this year!
{WOOO HOOOO}
As much as I love being at home, blogging, and running my online boutique.
The income right now just isn't as consistent as I would like...
and to be completely honest, I NEED HUMAN INTERACTION.

I'm hoping I'll hear back from them sometime this week so I can start soon!
Not only am I excited about getting out of the house,
but I actually have an excuse to create a cute look multiple times a week!!
{whoop whoop}
My pregnancy has left me SO tired all the time,
so this will be a good way to get up and moving and hopefully be more productive.

Kyle and I went on a little date night on Friday,
which means I FINALLY washed my hair and changed out of my sweatpants!

We went to Shogun, one of those Japanese Grills where they cook in front of you!
If you've never been to a restaurant like this, you typically sit at a big table with random people.
Kyle and I were the first to arrive, and then a girl and her mom arrived after us and sat by us,
and then a family of four...
I'm leaving out a bunch of little details BUT the main reason i'm telling y'all this story is because....
E V E R Y  S I N G L E person at the table {besides Kyle and I} was on an electronic device
the entire freaking dinner!!!!!!
Guys, it was so weird.
Nobody even said hi to us, and NO ONE was talking,
which made it uncomfortable for Kyle and I to have a conversation because
they were all sitting at the same table as us and it was SO quiet they could hear every word
that we said to each other.
It was seriously the weirdest and saddest thing.

Anyways, I'm telling all of you this to say, please don't be those people.
In a world where we're all addicted to our phones and technology, myself included.
DO NOT let it get so bad that you can't even enjoy a dinner with your family.
I'll be the first to admit, that yes, I love social media, and the internet and all of the above.
But I do everything I can to still be in the moment as much as possible,
and to not let it hurt my relationships and friendships.
Hell, I give all of you who are reading this that hang out with me to CALL ME OUT,
if i'm ever with you and i'm not paying attention to you because i'm on my phone.
I D O  N O T ever want to be that person.

Okay, rant over.
Time to get off the internet and get some work done and do something outside in this
UH MAZING weather God has been blessing us with lately!

Hope everyone enjoys their Monday!

Memorial Day Weekend Recap Part II

Once all of the wedding festivities were over
and the happy couple was off to their honeymoon,
we decided to make the last day a vacation day.

Which means, BOAT DAY!

Unfortunately this suit is completely sold out everywhere,
but i'll link some other cute options for y'all below!

It was the perfect relaxing ending to our busy weekend.
That evening us girls went to a Spazmatics concert and
H O L Y C R A P
it was freaking amazing!

If you don't know who they are (I didn't before the concert) They're a band
that plays/performs 80's music.
They were such good performers and we all seriously had the best time ever.

But now it's back to reality...
I have my 10 year high school reunion this Saturday.
(wait when did I get so old)
So that should be interesting, i'm sure there will be plenty of alcohol involved.

Happy Thursday!

Fredericksburg Weekend Recap

Happy Friday!

This past weekend I got to celebrate my amazing sister in law, Michelle.
I got to spend the weekend with such an incredible group of girls
and we had SO much fun drinking wine and telling stories and just laughing our butts off.

We arrived in canyon lake Friday night and had a relaxing night in,
I got the chance to meet a lot of Michelles' close friends for the first time.
They are all SO sweet,
we spent Friday night drinking margs and catching up/getting to know each other.

Saturday was spent frolicking around the Hill Country drinking lots and lots of wine.
I wore this adorable romper with these Steve Madden wedges that i've literally been
eyeing for what seems like FOREVER now.
SO glad I caved and purchased them.

I don't think the weather could've been any better the entire weekend,
[Shout out to Jesus]
After the wineries we headed back to the house to relax before our dinner reservations.

The weekend went by WAY too fast, as it always does.
But of course i'm happy to be back home.
Hope all of you had an easy breezy week and enjoy your weekend!

Pumpkin Painting Party

Guys, this weekend was so much fun!

After work Saturday Kyle and I headed to the Woodlands for a family night.

Kyle's cousin, Krissa, had the genius idea of a family pumpkin painting party.

We had such a fun night, and if you follow me on snapchat (Monicaleeee)
I'm sure you got to see my masterpiece!
Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos of all of our finished pumpkins.
And by that, I mean I didn't take any pictures of our finished pumpkins -
because mine was absolutely terrible --
I had a goal,
and that was to have a fuchsia leopard print pumpkin with some gold throughout...
Well, my pumpkin looked like it had a severe peanut allergy and was breaking out in hives so..
That's that.

But it was still a great night with the fam.

Sunday was also an unplanned day full of pumpkins.
Stay tuned cuz i'm kind of obsessed with the outfit I wore -- mainly the shoes.
And I think some of you may need them.

Celebrating Fall in my favorite Summer Sandals

Top: LuLus | Skirt: Forever21 [cute option]| Sandals: [similar] | Necklace: LuLus

Well guys, it's October and it's still about 90 degrees here in Houston,
so this outfit is about as Fall as it's gonna get for now.
I'm DYING to whip out my infinity scarves and boots but it just aint happening for us yet.

How was everyones weekend?!
Mine was great -
I worked saturday then got to grab a late lunch & catch up with my sweet girlfriend.

Sunday was spent with Kyle and Charley, catching up on Netflix & eating lots of take out.
We're currently watching Blacklist and it's SO good!
Anyone else watching that right now?!
We are totally obsessed.
I'm also watching Greys Anatomy [on my own] - Kyle just couldn't get into it.
I'm about to finish Season 3, and I cry hysterically just about every episode, UGH, it's just so good.
which reminds me, I need to go watch a few episodes....

Happy Monday y'all!!

Early bird gets the worm

Labor Day Weekend is always something I look forward too.
For the past few years Kyle and I (and his entire family) always go down to the Valley
for opening weekend.
This year we left on Thursday so we could get some fishing in Friday morning!
It's not often that i'm up to watch the sunrise, but when I am -
I make sure to soak in every minute.

I'd like to say that I'm a badass fisher[wo]man BUT I always like to keep it real with y'all...
I pretty much only go in hopes to see some dolphins, and of course for a good selfie.
Y'all would be so proud though...I totally caught 2 fish all on my own,
reeled those suckers in and everything.

Oh and here's a rare and adorable photo of Kyle,
Yes, he's posing to make fun of me.
There may or may not have been a photo shoot prior to this picture
where I did the exact same pose...Unfortunately, he nailed it much better than I did.

We ended up reaching our limit before noon and thank God we did because,
Holy crap it was H O T.

And after the fishing was done we got back to the house and took a 4 hour nap...
#OldPeopleNeedNapsToo

On Saturday and Sunday we attempted to go dove hunting...
More Labor Day weekend details will be up tomorrow!!

Independence Day 2015

This weekend was spent in the good ol' South!

Me, Kyle, Michelle & Alex all piled up in the car and headed to the Valley Thursday evening.

Kyle's dad still lives in the valley so we always like to go visit any chance we get!

We got there super late and pretty much went straight to bed,
then got up early Friday morning and headed to the beach!

I of course had to wear this adorable USA crop top.

Top: [similar]

We got there before everyone else arrived so of course there was a photo shoot.
Please notice that Kyle stole BOTH my hat and sunglasses that I brought for the day...
The "what's mine is yours" really does apply when you get married y'all.

Everyone got there about 10 minutes after we did,
and boy oh boy did we have a hell of a time!

I love love love how blessed Kyle and I are in both the family and friends department.

It's really nice to enjoy all of these fun times together,
we're all getting older and probably about to start families of our own so it's nice
to just get out and do things like this while we still can!!

Hope all of you had as much fun as we did this past weekend!!
Happy Hump Day!

xoxo, Monica

Sunday Celebrations

Shorts: Tobi

This Sunday was spent celebrating one of my very best friends engagements!!
Kyle and I spent the morning being lazy and then headed over to Claires parents place around 3.
As soon as I got there I was gifted with a VERY pleasant surprise.

She asked me to be her Matron of Honor and I could NOT be more excited!!

I love this girl with my whole heart, she has been SUCH a good friend to me,
and I'm so thankful to have her in my life!

The day was spent sipping on sangria and chatting with Claire's closest friends and family.

Margaritas and Country Dancin'

This weekend was definitely one for the books.

Friday night we celebrated [Kyles cousin] Corey's 29th birthday!

And hereeeeee is my outfit of choice for the evening...

Top: ShopMCE
Jeans: Paige Denim via Nordstrom
Boots: Justin Brand via Cavenders

A bunch of family and friends all met at a Alicia's Mexican Grill to celebrate.

And then most of us headed out to Big Texas for a little dancin'!

Kyle and I MAJORLY need some dance lessons haha
Both of us are pretty athletic but we are the absolute worst dancers EVER.
But of course we still have a blast doing it!

Pretty sure a big group of us are going to go get some lessens somewhere
in the near future!

Sheesh, this weekend was SO awesome but went by way too fast.
Definitely not ready to take on today and my never ending to do list :(

But, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Happy Monday!
xoxo Monica
