Trendy Maternity Clothing!

Okay guys, I totally truly 100% thought I would be that girl that kind of just
MADE her pre pregnancy clothes work for her.
I did not see myself purchasing or wanting legitimate maternity clothes like whatsoever...

Well, as most of you are aware my bump showed up pretty quickly!
And honestly, trying to get my regular clothes on every day has been a complete pain in my ass.
And I mean that literally and figuratively.

I did an Instagram post not too long ago asking everyone where they buy
cute maternity clothes and I got SO many responses and I'm so thankful for everyone that commented!
(If y'all want me to do a full post of all of my favorite maternity clothing shops so far let me know)

I am officially a lover all things maternity, all things stretchy, and all things comfort related.
(and fabulous of course)

So far in my pregnancy I've leaned more towards tighter fitting clothing.
I find it personally flatters my new figure more and shows that I'm not a huge wide load,
and I'm just rocking a baby bump.

HOWEVER, I ran across this adorable little maternity top and I knew I had to have it.
I am a HUGE fan of peplum and baby doll style tops, like #1 fan right here.
But I wasn't sure how peplum would work with my baby bump.

Top / Shorts (black pair) / Booties

Well, to my surprise it was freaking adorable,
I added a direct link to this top for y'all under the photos!
Even though it's October, it's still in the 90's here in Houston.
I am beyond ready for the temperatures to start dropping.
Apparently there's a cold front coming through next week,
so hopefully i'll be able to style a cute sweater/Fall look for y'all!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Life Update + Date Night

Things are going to be changing a little bit in my world soon!
I officially applied to be a Substitute Teacher this year!
{WOOO HOOOO}
As much as I love being at home, blogging, and running my online boutique.
The income right now just isn't as consistent as I would like...
and to be completely honest, I NEED HUMAN INTERACTION.

I'm hoping I'll hear back from them sometime this week so I can start soon!
Not only am I excited about getting out of the house,
but I actually have an excuse to create a cute look multiple times a week!!
{whoop whoop}
My pregnancy has left me SO tired all the time,
so this will be a good way to get up and moving and hopefully be more productive.

Kyle and I went on a little date night on Friday,
which means I FINALLY washed my hair and changed out of my sweatpants!

We went to Shogun, one of those Japanese Grills where they cook in front of you!
If you've never been to a restaurant like this, you typically sit at a big table with random people.
Kyle and I were the first to arrive, and then a girl and her mom arrived after us and sat by us,
and then a family of four...
I'm leaving out a bunch of little details BUT the main reason i'm telling y'all this story is because....
E V E R Y  S I N G L E person at the table {besides Kyle and I} was on an electronic device
the entire freaking dinner!!!!!!
Guys, it was so weird.
Nobody even said hi to us, and NO ONE was talking,
which made it uncomfortable for Kyle and I to have a conversation because
they were all sitting at the same table as us and it was SO quiet they could hear every word
that we said to each other.
It was seriously the weirdest and saddest thing.

Anyways, I'm telling all of you this to say, please don't be those people.
In a world where we're all addicted to our phones and technology, myself included.
DO NOT let it get so bad that you can't even enjoy a dinner with your family.
I'll be the first to admit, that yes, I love social media, and the internet and all of the above.
But I do everything I can to still be in the moment as much as possible,
and to not let it hurt my relationships and friendships.
Hell, I give all of you who are reading this that hang out with me to CALL ME OUT,
if i'm ever with you and i'm not paying attention to you because i'm on my phone.
I D O  N O T ever want to be that person.

Okay, rant over.
Time to get off the internet and get some work done and do something outside in this
UH MAZING weather God has been blessing us with lately!

Hope everyone enjoys their Monday!

Memorial Day Weekend Recap Part I

Wait, it's June already?!
Sheesh, May was such a busy month for us!!

We bought and moved into our new home, I turned 28,
my sweet sister [in law] married her best friend,
and it feels like about a million other things happened as well!

We had a super busy Memorial Day weekend,
we left on Thursday to head to Canyon Lake.
That's where the wedding took place and we were nonstop all weekend!

Friday was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner,
the dinner took place at a beautiful restaurant winery called Oak Valley.

A few days before the rehearsal dinner Kyle and I were asked to do a surprise toast
for the bride and groom.
Guys...public speaking, no no no, NOT my thing.
BUT of course, we were so honored and love those two to death.
So it wasn't difficult at all to get up there and pour our hearts out.
The entire weekend flew by wayyyyyy too fast,
Tomorrow I'll give y'all a glimpse into the wedding day!
Holy crap, it was SO perfect.
Backyard weddings will forever be my fav.

Fredericksburg Weekend Recap

Happy Friday!

This past weekend I got to celebrate my amazing sister in law, Michelle.
I got to spend the weekend with such an incredible group of girls
and we had SO much fun drinking wine and telling stories and just laughing our butts off.

We arrived in canyon lake Friday night and had a relaxing night in,
I got the chance to meet a lot of Michelles' close friends for the first time.
They are all SO sweet,
we spent Friday night drinking margs and catching up/getting to know each other.

Saturday was spent frolicking around the Hill Country drinking lots and lots of wine.
I wore this adorable romper with these Steve Madden wedges that i've literally been
eyeing for what seems like FOREVER now.
SO glad I caved and purchased them.

I don't think the weather could've been any better the entire weekend,
[Shout out to Jesus]
After the wineries we headed back to the house to relax before our dinner reservations.

The weekend went by WAY too fast, as it always does.
But of course i'm happy to be back home.
Hope all of you had an easy breezy week and enjoy your weekend!

Laced lbd

Dress: Tobi | Sandals: ShopMCE | Bag: KateSpade

As mentioned on Instagram, this dress is THE perfect combination of cute and comfy!
I am a huge fan of dresses that I can wear and eat a cheeseburger [or two] in, and still feel fabulous.

I am so in love with the lace details on this dress, it adds that perfect amount of flare to this LBD.
Score this dress and tons of other adorable stuff over at www.tobi.com

The bag I'm carrying is vintage Kate Spade, I got it years ago, and honestly forgot I had it.
How cute is it though? As soon as I saw it lying in my closet, I knew I had to carry it with this look!

Ohhhhhh these sandals, these sandals are from ShopMCE.com and they are undeniably adorable.
However I won't lie, they do rub your heel on the back, BUT that can be easily fixed.
They also run a little bigger, so if you're going to order yourself some, order at least 1/2 size down!

I wore this little number to my beautiful sister in laws bridal shower this past weekend.
It was a couples shower and I had the pleasure of being one of the hostesses!
Kyle's aunt decorated the place and holy guacamole it was STUNNING!

I've got a busy next few weeks ahead of me!
Doing my stores closeout sale this weekend, then have a bachelorette party next weekend.
Hope everyone is having a w o n d e r f u l week so far!

Have no fear, Spring is near

Top: Tobi | Jeans: Amuse Society | Shoes: Nordstrom (similar) | Clutch: Kate Spade

First things first, how ADORABLE is this top?!
I fell in love as soon as I laid eyes on it,
I'll definitely be wearing it on repeat all Spring/Summer long!
Oh and guess what? It's only $27 right now and comes in olive as well.
Get your butt on over to their website y'all > www.tobi.com

In other news, we celebrated my sweet husbands birthday this weekend.
He turned the big 2-8, and I seriously think he gets better looking every day...
His nana cooked us all a delicious meal and then we went to a little bar in
North Texas to continue the celebration!
He has been working his butt off lately, and I am seriously SO thankful he's mine.
We've been house hunting like crazy and have already put 4 offers in on houses,
but it just hasn't worked out yet. Which is fine, because I know God has a perfect plan for us.
But sheesh we are just SO ready to be settled in somewhere.
Just working on being patient and knowing it will happen when it's meant too!

We're heading to the rodeo tonight with some friends to see Sam Hunt,
So I'll be back here tomorrow with a full report on how the concert was,
what outfit I wore,
and how many corn dogs I ate!

Stay tuned lovers,

Blue Jean Baby

Top: CottonOn [similar] | Jacket: Target [similar] | Leggings: ShopMCE | Boots: LuLusNecklace: Hemline

It seems like Kyle and I have been nonstop lately.
Wedding season is in full force!
Thankfully this weekend we won't be traveling and will get to spend lots of time with family!
I'm a little in shock that Thanksgiving is THIS week, like...WHUT? how did that happen?
It will still be a super busy one for us though!

I'm currently going through this phase where I want to change everything in our home.
I'm all about neutrals -- whites and grays and then random accent colors.
So don't be surprised if you start seeing a whole lot of before & afters on here..
Kyle just painted our red TV stand/chest white this past weekend,
it was gorgeous, but just didn't quite fit the look I was going for.
We can't be changing too much though because, God willing, we'll be moving soon.
I'm SO ready to be in a new place, closer to work!
Prayers that we'll find something soon are much appreciated --
we've only been looking for forever - __ -

But anyways,
Hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

The long drive home

Top: LuLus | Jacket: Pacsun [similar] | Leggings: ShopMCE | Booties: LuLus

Last night we all celebrated Kyle's cousin and one of my best friends birthdays!
It was awesome because it was a surprise dinner and she was totally 100% surprised,
which rarely happens with this family!

We went to the Republican Grille in the Woodlands,
and of course, everything was absolutely delicious.
We ended up heading home pretty late for a week night and were both trying HARD to stay awake.
You know how you always see those things on facebook,
"ask your husband or kids these questions and share and re post and blah blah!"
I never do those, because nobody probably cares.
BUT, we had a long drive, and I was interested to see Kyle's answers..
So here we go!

(Ladies, without prompting, ask your husband, boyfriend, or kids these questions and write down exactly what they say. The outcome can be hilarious)

Kyle's Responses:

What makes me happy?
"Besides me? Food."

What makes me sad?
"Seeing animals get hurt"

How tall am I?
"5'5"

"How much time do I have??"

What is my favorite restaurant?
"Bluefish"

Where is my favorite place to visit?
"Mexico...or the hill Country?"

If I could go anywhere, where would it be?
"Bora Bora!...I was gonna say Greece but..Where would you rather go??"

Do you think you could live without me?
"Absolutely not"

How do I annoy you?
"Oh geez...I plead the 5th"

Model of the month

Top: ShopMCE | Flannel: Billabong[similar] | Jeans: LuLus | Shoes: OnlineShoes

If you follow my store on Instagram
i'm sure you saw that I did a little photoshoot with one of my girlfriends recently!

and y'all...it kind of changed my life.
It's been really hard for me to grow my business Instagram, and really get the images that I want...
It's super hard to get the exact pictures that I want when i'm modeling my own clothes.
I always have a vision in mind -
What I want the picture to look like, how I want the clothes to lay on the body,
how I want the model standing, and how I want the background to be...
But being the model & having a friend (who's NOT a photographer)
take the pictures makes that a pretty hard job.
My pictures always come out decent, but just not the vision I had in mind.

I'm not at the point where I can hire a professional model,
BUT I do have some pretty gorgeous friends.
The only problem is....
I'm only off on Mondays, and well the  majority of my friends work on Mondays.
However, the other week I convinced one of my friends to "work from home"
so she could model for me!

and guys...it was A W E S O M E.

I was able to direct and use my creativity to get the exact shots I wanted,
and I seriously loved every minute of it.
and my friend Liz had an awesome time as well.
I mean what girl wouldn't enjoy wearing cute clothes and being a model for a day?!
Which is how I came up with the idea of....
Having a different model every month.
A Model of the Month if you will.

So with all of that being said...
If any of you babes live in the Houston area and would be interested
in being a model of the month (which is actually just a day or 2 of LOTS of picture taking)
let me know and we can talk details!

Would love to meet some of you!

Friday Favors

Dress: ShopMCE | Boots: LuLus | Necklace: Hemline

Howdy y'all!

So, I have a favor to ask of all of you, a prayer request if you will.

Kyle and I have been on the hunt for a new home for quite a while now.
I'm commuting almost 4 hours a day and not only is it taking a toll on the bank account,
but also on my sanity.
-- Long story short --
My sweet Mamaw has been living in an assisted living facility for a while now,
and her house is just kind of sitting there empty.
My parents came up with a genius idea that Kyle & I could live in it,
pay for the utilities, save up for a house of our own -
but also work on my Mamaws house while we're living in it, ya know - fix it up a bit
and just take care of it for her while she's not able to live in it.

Well, My Mamaw isn't quite herself lately so she didn't take that too well,
and felt as if we were trying to take her house from her.
But in reality it would just be the perfect situation and help all of us out.
It's closer to my job, it would help us save money for a home of our own,
and we would fix her house up and keep it safe while she's away.

Today after work i'm going to go visit her and possibly talk to her about it,
so if y'all could say a little prayer for me!
Just pray that if it's Gods will that we move there for a little while that my Mamaw
will have an open mind and trust that we will take care of her home for her &
know that we aren't trying to take it away from her.

I know there's power in prayer so hopefully we will have an answer today!

Y'all are the best, thanks for reading this little blog of mine.
Happy Friday!!!
