Good things to come..

Y'all, there has been SO much running through my mind the past few months.

So much stress, so much worry, so much wondering what people are going to think.

But after a lot of thought and prayer and hard conversations,
i've officially decided that I won't be re signing my lease on my store.
The opportunity to have my storefront came at such a perfect time in my life,
having a store front for a year was EXACTLY what I needed last year.
It was such a positive experience and I have learned and grown SO much from it.
Although it was SO much fun dealing with customers face to face,
and meeting SO many incredible and sweet women,
Plaza just wasn't the place for my business.
I'll be leaving at the end of March.
I'll be continuing to sell online, and I'll be doing pop up shops around Texas
as frequently as possible!

Engagement Season

I took a little break from blogging the last few weeks,

and I feel like I have SO much to fill y'all in on!

But the most exciting thing is...

My little sister got E N G A G E D!!!!

I had the honor of hiding and capturing the moment for them,

It seriously meant so much to me that Michelle's fiancé 

trusted me to play such a big role on their special day.

Here's a little tiny glimpse.

After the proposal he had all of her closest friends and family waiting to surprise her.
He did SUCH a great job!

It is officially engagement season y'all!!

i'm sure you saw that I did a little photoshoot with one of my girlfriends recently!

and y'all...it kind of changed my life.

It's been really hard for me to grow my business Instagram, and really get the images that I want...

It's super hard to get the exact pictures that I want when i'm modeling my own clothes.

I always have a vision in mind -

What I want the picture to look like, how I want the clothes to lay on the body, 

how I want the model standing, and how I want the background to be...

But being the model & having a friend (who's NOT a photographer)

take the pictures makes that a pretty hard job.

My pictures always come out decent, but just not the vision I had in mind. 

I'm not at the point where I can hire a professional model, 

BUT I do have some pretty gorgeous friends.

The only problem is....

I'm only off on Mondays, and well the  majority of my friends work on Mondays.

However, the other week I convinced one of my friends to "work from home"

so she could model for me!

and guys...it was A W E S O M E.

I was able to direct and use my creativity to get the exact shots I wanted,

and I seriously loved every minute of it.

and my friend Liz had an awesome time as well.

I mean what girl wouldn't enjoy wearing cute clothes and being a model for a day?!

Which is how I came up with the idea of....

Having a different model every month.

A Model of the Month if you will.

So with all of that being said...

If any of you babes live in the Houston area and would be interested 

in being a model of the month (which is actually just a day or 2 of LOTS of picture taking)

let me know and we can talk details!

Sunday Evening Adventures.

This Sunday Kyle and I were doing our usual "Sunday"...

Ya know, sitting on the couch watching tv, 

then eating, then sitting on the couch watching tv, then more eating.

It was about 4:30 and I leaned over and said, 

"Lets drive to San Antonio & take Charley on a hike"

I was 100% dead serious, and he was actually considering it for a second.

But then - he had a better idea.

I've been begging Kyle to just take Charley & I out on the boat since he got the boat back in July.

I remember years ago, when we hadn't been dating long, he took me out on his grandpas boat,

just the two of us - and it was one of the best days of my life.

Wellp, this Sunday definitely topped it. 

We grabbed the girl and a bottle of wine & headed out to the river about 5pm, 

It was raining, but we didn't care. 

We drove around for a bit and then Charley and I jumped in and swam for a little while.

There are these little beaches of sand along the side of the river so we decided to park,

andddddddddd we discovered my new most favorite place EVER.

It was unbelievably peaceful, and beautiful, and JUST the escape we needed.

We walked around & drank some wine,

Then sat down for a bit and talked...

It was just the random adventure that we needed.

Okay y'all I am SO excited because I've F I NA L L Y gotten a new lens for my camera!

Well, actually, my parents got it for me for my birthday...but nonetheless...

I HAVE A NEW LENS.

I am one of the less fortunate "bloggers" out there because I don't have a photographer as a husband.

Does he take all of my pictures? yes. Does he do it well? ...that's another story.

BUT this new lens makes it MUCH easier on the poor guy and I am oh.so.thankful.

{FYI I have a canon eos rebel SL1 -- and the new lens is an EF 85mm} 

Now, let's talk about this casual and simple little look i've got going on.

I'm all about flowy tops. Flowy is not actually a real word, but it's a word I use often.

I've never been one for super form fitting tops, 

I'll be REAL honest and admit that I'm a severe bloater...

{yes, I diagnosed myself}

I know I'm thin and small etc etc...

but throw a piece of food in me and I can look 7 months pregnant REAL quick.

With that being said...anytime I see a loose fitting top made in a soft fabric, I'll buy it. 

This specific top is from my boutique and holy crap I wanted one in every color.

I'm REALLY hoping I can re order -- it was also available in a red and mustard color.

I love tops like this because they can be worn all year round, 

Transition pieces are a girl on a budgets best friend. 

I've only got one of these tops left so---RUN & order if you want it!

On to these shorts...

I always have a hard time finding shorts that fit me properly

and American Eagle really never lets me down.

I probably wear these shorts 3 times a week and i'm not mad about it.

If you don't own a pair of sandals that look like this, you're missing out.

They are SO on trend right now and a million times more comfy then they look.

The tassels on the laces just add an extra cutie factor which makes them a total "must have".

I'm so excited right now, as you all know I own an online boutique.

I do everything....model, photograph, package, ship, social media, email, etc.

One of my best friends Claire has REALLY been wanting to start her photography business,

but she needs to build her portfolio first.

Therefore she offered to take some of my boutique photos for me!

I forced Skye to model with me because she's a doll,

[it really didn't take much forcing]

and also because I slowly want to step awaaayyyyy from being in front of the camera

Obviously I'm not posting every single photo because there were about 900!

It's so fun sharing my pictures with y'all, it's like I get to re-live the day over again.

For all my engaged followers ENJOY the time being engaged!

EVERY one told me that all the time but I was SO ready to just be married,

and I LOVE being Kyles wife more than anything, 

but it does kind of makes me sad seeing all of these other girls wedding planning,

because mine went by CRAZY fast. 

At the time of course it felt SUPER slow, but now that I look back 

September 22-February 9th was a complete blur, the days just flew by!

and now what the heck am I supposed to do with my wedding pinterest board?!

hahaha

You spend SO much time pinning to that particular board while you're engaged, 

and then you get married and have no clue what to do with your life.

not really, but you know what I mean.

Tomorrow you'll see our reception pics and then I need to fill y'all 

in on what it's like AFTER the wedding!
